The Proxxon cutting discs offer specific solutions for cutting wood, plastics, non-ferrous metals, steel, cast iron and hard steels such as stainless steel and HSS. The range includes spring steel discs, corundum abrasive discs and reinforced aluminium oxide discs, all with a 2.35 mm shank compatible with the Micromot system.

Proxxon Discs for Cutting Wood, Metals and Hard Steels

The Proxxon range dedicated to cutting includes three types of blades, each optimized for different materials and applications. All tools are designed to work at high speeds with clean, controlled cuts, reducing vibration and overheating.

1. Spring Steel (HSS) Discs – 2.35 mm Shank

For wood, plastics, non-ferrous metals and thin sheet metal.

  • 28830 (3 pcs): Ø 16 mm, Ø 19 mm, Ø 22 mm – thickness 0.1 mm. Ideal for thin, precise cuts in model making.

2. Corundum Sanding Discs – 2.35 mm Shank

For steel, cast iron and non-ferrous metals.

  • 28810 (10 pcs): Ø 22 mm, thickness 1.0 mm.
  • 28812 (50 pcs), 28820 (5 pcs), 28821 (25 pcs): Ø 38 mm, thickness 1.0 mm.

3. Reinforced Aluminum Oxide Discs – 2.35 mm Shank

For hard steels, alloy steels, stainless steels and HSS.

  • 28808 (10 pcs): Ø 22 mm, thickness 1.0 mm.
  • 28809 (50 pcs), 28818 (5 pcs), 28819 (20 pcs): Ø 38 mm, thickness 1.0 mm.

Directions for Use

  • Always use Proxxon disc holders to ensure stability.
  • Don't apply excessive pressure: it's the speed that does the cutting.
  • Always wear safety glasses when cutting.
  • For stainless steel and HSS, prefer aluminum oxide reinforced discs.
