Concentric Clamping for Complex Geometries

The four-jaw chuck (code 24158) is a high-precision mechanical accessory developed to fit perfectly onto the spindle of the FD 150/E lathe. Unlike chucks with independent jaws, this self-centering version moves all four jaws simultaneously, greatly facilitating the centering of square or octagonal workpieces without requiring time-consuming manual adjustments.

Technical and Functional Features

  • Clamping Geometry: Specifically configured for secure clamping of 4 or 8-sided workpieces, where the standard 3-jaw chuck would be ineffective.
  • Dimensions: External diameter of 50 mm , perfectly proportioned to the compact structure of the FD 150/E lathe.
  • Reversible Jaws: The set of jaws supplied is reversible to adapt to different gripping needs:
    • Internal socket: 2 to 20 mm.
    • External socket: 20 to 50 mm.

proxxon Build Quality

In line with MICROMOT system standards, the chuck is designed to minimize vibration and maintain high rotational precision even at the lathe's maximum speeds (up to 5,000 rpm). The smooth running of the internal mechanisms ensures constant clamping force, protecting the workpiece from deformation while ensuring maximum operational safety during longitudinal turning, flat turning, and drilling.

Directions for use: To maintain precision over time, it is recommended to carefully clean the jaw guides from shavings after each use, using compressed air or a soft brush.
