Here you will find all the information you need to enjoy autumn without the worry of removing dry leaves.

The first question we ask ourselves is: which model to choose?
The correct question, however, is: “ What are my needs? ”

An electric blower requires little maintenance, but you obviously need a power outlet and probably an extension cord if you have a large garden or driveway. This is the solution that allows you to use the machine immediately .

The cordless leaf blower is easy to use, but its battery life is limited . It's the ideal solution for smaller gardens. Remember to charge the tool's battery before use, and follow the instructions in the manual to maintain maximum battery life.

The petrol-engined blower is the most powerful : the semi-professional solution, suitable for large gardens. You'll need to refuel the machine, which should always be done when it's cold. The results achieved far outweigh the maintenance effort.

Now that you've chosen your blower, all you have to do is learn how to use it .

The exact working method involves two phases:

1. leaf accumulation using blower mode
2. suction and shredding by changing the machine's operating mode.

Before performing any type of action with your blower , wear the appropriate PPE : mask , glasses , headphones and suitable clothing . Here you will find all the safety devices you need.

Now that you're protected, you need to think about protecting other people and the things around you . The leaf blower is a machine that applies force to objects on the ground: it allows you to sweep away leaves and debris at high speed . To avoid damage, turn off the machine when someone approaches and keep the nozzle low when blowing . If you find yourself facing particularly dry and dusty ground, wet it before proceeding to reduce the level of dust you will raise when using the blower. Dust is harmful , which is why you must wear a mask to protect your respiratory tract and why you should try to generate as little dust as possible.
Do not use the blower on large piles of gravel, plaster dust or cement: this material, if pushed by the blower, becomes like projectiles .

The tool was designed as a tool for removing dry leaves. Any other use is the user's sole responsibility.

Now that you have acquired the basic safety knowledge for using the leaf blower, you need to focus on the operational part .

Find a comfortable grip for your blower: you won't get the job done if the grip is uncomfortable.

With the tube about 15-20 cm from the ground, move the blower slowly back and forth using a left-right oscillating motion . The first few times, you'll find it awkward. You'll need to experiment a few times before finding the right speed.

Once you've created a pile of material, you can vacuum it up . Turn off the machine and prepare it for vacuuming mode by attaching the collection bag (see the instruction manual for proper instructions). Once the machine is ready, you can vacuum up the accumulated material. Position the hose slightly above the pile and vacuum.

Once full, the bag can be detached and emptied with the machine turned off and unplugged.

The plant material you shred is great for compost or mulch.

For aspiration it is useful to know that:

•           the flat beak is used on wet leaves
•           the round beak is used on dry leaves

Some leaf blower models, such as BLACK+DECKER electric leaf blowers, include a scraper for use on leaves that tend to stick to the ground.

Once you've finished , thoroughly clean the machine and all its components. Avoid leaving debris inside the hose, collection bag, and blades. The filter should also be kept clean and clear.
The electric blower uses self-lubricating bearings , so no lubrication is required.

A general indication valid for all models concerns the place of storage of the machine : do not keep the blower in a humid place so as to avoid damaging the engine and the various components.
